What is CSS and why do I need it

On your site you write "Content Scrambled DVD (CSS) playback IS NOT SUPPORTED! This software has no decrypting ability incorporated." Why do I need this feature, or do I need it at all?

CSS stands for "Content Scrambling System". It is the data scrambling method used to garble the content of a DVD disc. According to most sources, CSS was put into use for the purpose of ensuring that copyrighted material placed in this format would only be usable with licensed DVD playback mechanisms. In some countries de-CSS playback support is illegal.
If you are watching licensed DVDs, you don't need this feature.
