The pack comprises directshow filters that you can use in your own application or via MS GraphEdit. It is not an end-user product with a user interface. | Features
- Software-only MPEG-2 (ISO/IEC 13818-2) and MPEG-1 (ISO/IEC 11172-2) encoding (adjustable with preset selection).
- Selectable profiles and levels up to ”High Profile @ High Level”, ”4:2:2 Profile @ Main Level”*, and ”4:2:2 Profile @ High Level”*.
- Bitrate support up to High Level restriction (80 Mbps).
- Configurable bitrate control (VBR, CBR).
- Configurable GOP structure (I-, P- and B-frames in different combinations).
- Resolutions support up to 4095x4095 for MPEG-1, up to High Level restriction (1920x1152) for MPEG-2, up to 16383x16383 for MPEG-2*.
- 4:2:0 and 4:2:2* chroma format support (4:2:2 is supported if the input video format is 4:2:2 compatible, i.e. YV16, YUY2, UYVY, RGB24, RGB32).
- Configurable motion estimation (quality and search range).
- Configurable scene change detection (none, fast, refined).
- Configurable closed_gop periodicity.

The shareware version of the Elecard MPEG2 Video Encoder has the Elecard Logo in the upper-right corner of the encoded video and the running announcement at the bottom of the screen.
