Hello,

As always, the Elecard MPEG Player is the best high def media player in the world. (this is not a sarcasm). It is known for providing smoothest playback. It also deinterlaces the 1080i video on a 720p display without a single frame drop.

I wanted to know if you developers would create this app for Apple iPad 2?  I can't seem to find any apps out there that is any descent enough to properly de-interlace the 1080i video on the 1024x768 iPad 2 screen.  The hardware is there, has enough processing power (A5 dual core) and beefy onboard graphics controller, at least that is my belief. I think the problem is that the Apple iPad 2 is not utilizing hardware acceleration for these video files, basically, anything other than .mp4 files.

Would you be kind to respond and let me know if this project is on the list?

Thank you a ton.

Thanks. Smiley

Elecard MPEG Player developers, Project managers, or Tech Support Supervisors, I hope I am not asking something far out of hand..  I really felt this app is needed for such mobile devices so we can enjoy awesome video playback.  Right now, from the apps I have tried, one is unable to provide de-interlacing when playing 1080i MPEG2-TS files, although it de-interlaces 1080p compressed file nicely. The other app I tried does the de-interlacing fine, but it skips / drops frames severely and cause some video artifacts, also the sound is cut off few seconds after the playback is started. I can't seem to find a descent app (something that costs more than $3.  I am looking for some serious app that costs $19.99 or $24.95. and call it "Elecard MPEG Player for iPads".  I know software implementaion plays a huge roll which is why I'm asking.  I want to be a beta tester, so please use me!  I am pretty sure some of you developers are playing with Apple iPad 2 right now as we speak... Smiley

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Hi all!

Si all i got is the MPEG video playback problem and some  de-interlacing issue  Huh

You said that the Elecard MPEG Player is the best high def media player in the world. but you also confessed that it failed you in de-interlacing when playing 1080i MPEG2-TS files.

Thus in this way there is a fine contradiction in your representation! Cheesy

Please correct me if i am wrong!
Huh??..  I was referring to the apps currently available for iPad 2 that are having issues playing MPEG2-TS files.  Elecard has not yet (if they ever will) released the app for iPad 2, so you understood wrong. Smiley

As for Elecard MPEG Player being the best compare to other "free" or similarly priced apps, yes, it is true.  All the rest are junk as I have tried quite a few out there...  VLC and Media Player Classic are junk, but I really shouldn't say that as they can be had for free.....   So far, Elecard MPEG Player has the best performance in playback. So far this is the only player that gives you the feel of "60~100 FPS" when playing 29/30 FPS video clips. In the video, when the camera turns, the objects - even while they are in motion - do not stutter, not a zip! It's rock solid.

Back to the Elecard support reps, thank you for ignoring my posts.  I asked you nicely but you refused to reply.....  I am disappointed. Cry

Apple iPad2 will become worthless to me if I can't find a descent app to play the MPEG2-TS files with proper de-interlacing as I have about 1600 of those.   720p compressed files (mkv or avi) look crap on the iPad 2 screen as I have very high expectations in PQ.  I also need the option to adjust contrast setting for video playback.

If you don't support nor have any plan to make such application for Apple iPad 2 just say so instead of ignoring...

Thank you,

No problem at all!   Thank you for responding. Smiley

I am planning to upgrade my laptop to Apple MacBook Pro.   I still have the main desktop PC with Windows that is running Elecard MPEG Player.

I do hope that you will bring out some nice app such as Elecard MPEG Player for Mac OS.  I will continue to wait. Smiley

Meanwhile, I will try out the solution you have provided.

Thank you!
