HD 1440X1080i Solutions?

Unfortunately, trying to get HDV video from my HDV-HC3 Sony to a workable editable format has been a real nightmare, after trying about 20 different programs, I was finally able to capture HDV 1440X1080i with HDVsplit. I renamed the file to mpg and it will upload to Youtube and play with media windows player fine, but won't import into any video editing programs still. I can import into Elecard but haven't gotten it to export a usuable 1440X1080i video yet...it does concert to 720X480, even with the setting as maintain aspect ratio...but that is not what I want.


Anyone have a solution???  Or is HDV 1440X1080i editing and capturing just not workable on a PC??

You can try to use Elecard Converter Studio AVC HD Edition:
http://elecard.com/products/products-pc/consumer/converter-studio-avchd/
and convert your files using standard "MPEG-2 CQ I-frame only" profile. Please try it and inform me about the result.
