Hello,

We have an mpeg4 rtsp stream normally accessed through VLC using:

rtsp://IP_ADDRESS/VideoInput/1/mpeg4/1

We want to play it in WMP on winXP, so downloaded the trial AVC streaming plug_in. This seemed to install fine, and we then attempted to open the following URl in WMP:

elecard_rtsp://IP_ADDRESS/VideoInput/1/mpeg4/1

This was tried on two machines (and WMP 10 and 11), and each time we got a warning from WMP that elecalard_rtsp was not recognised, and did we want to try to play anyway. If we selected "yes" then WMP immediately told us it couldn't play.

Anything obvious we might not be doing? The software is installed, and the "registrator" says the evaluation copies are prtesent...

...I also tried an mpeg_2 stream, with the same results. The fact that WMP doesn't recognise the elecard_rtsp filter type would seam to suggest something else has gone wrong...

Could you tell me please what RTSP-server you try to connect to? As far as understand, it's some IP-camera, isn't?

Elecard AVC Decoder and Streaming PlugIn for WMP doesn't include MPEG-2 video decoder filter. In order to test MPEG-2 streaming you should use MPEG-2 Decoding and Streaming PlugIn for WMP.

The rtsp stream is from a hardware video encoder. I tried both the mpeg2 and the mpeg4 products. I have been in contact with your technical support team (Ivan) who is having a look at the problem. I think the problem may be that the sdp information provided by the server is not what elecard is expecting.

The stream can be accessed for the next few days here:

rtsp://81.142.157.155/VideoInput/1/mpeg4/1

I can open this with VLC
