2D Video Scaler in DES Timeline

Can the 2D Video Scaler be used in a DES timeline to replace the standard microsoft Resize filter via the IRenderEngine2::SetResizerGUID method?

I don't know exactly about resizer, but encoder and decoder can be changed in DES. Just try to replace resizer and then hare your experience with us .

I have tried to set the  the setResizerGuid to the guid of the scaler filter {77D50F8D-7237-414C-AA83-EC0A7A8FDC18} it does not throw an error and the graph runs but completes right away with no error and no file being created. Any ideas whether it can be used in this way?

If i save the DES graph then open it in graph edit and replace the MS Resize filter on the front end of the graph with the scaler filter it works but i cannot seem to get it to connect properly through code.
