We are developing a transcoding server using the "Elecard CODEC SDK G4  V.1.0.3".

During a stress test we done for our transcoding server (opening and closing transcoding sessions for a long period of time) we found that the process' memory is increasing.
The test was done with the supplied Elecard trial filters

We done the following manual memory test with the DirectShow GraphEdit utility.

Test with Elecard filters:

The Elecard test was done on two computers:
- Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5150 @ 2.66GHz, 2.67 GHz, 3.25 GB of RAM
- Intel(R) Pentium (R) M 2GHz, 1.99 GHz, 2GB of RAM

The graph's filters are:
1. File source (Netshow URL) - Chose MPEG2-TS file
2. Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer
3. Elecard MPEG-2 Video Decoder
4. Elecard AVC Video encoder SD
5. Elecard AVC Video decoder
6. Video Renderer

The test flow was:
a) Open graph edit
b) Manually build and connect the graph
c) run the graph and see the video is running
d) stop the graph
e) Remove all the filters
f) Check the memory of the GraphEdit process in the task manager
g) return to 'b'

The result was that in each iteration the memory was increased by 2MB in average

Test with ffshow codec and Xvid decoder

The test was done on Intel(R) Pentium (R) M 2GHz, 1.99 GHz 2GB of RAM

The graph's filters are:
1. File source (Netshow URL) - Chose MPEG2-TS file
2. Main concept (Demo) MPEG Demultiplexer
3. ffdshow Video Decoder
4. ffdshow Video Encoder
5. Xvid MPEG-4 Video Decoder
6. Video Renderer

The test flow was exactly the same as before

The result was that in each iteration the memory was more or less the same

We did another test with MainConcept's filters and saw also that the memory was also more or less the same.

Can you please respond for these results ? Can it be related for the usage of trial filters ?

Thanks
Ophir

In the nearest time we plan to released version 1.2 of "Elecard Codec SDK G4".
A lot of components are updated (including AVC encoder and decoder).
In any case we will check your situation.
