Filter registration

I have sent the following email to your sales department three times today. All three emails have bounced so I'm posting here instead.

The one, potentially very big, issue with choosing Elecard as our encoder of choice is the fact that end users of our product, who have already purchased your filters through us, are apparently only able to use these filters within our application and not on a system-wide basis.
 
According to your technical support staff, any filters registered on the end user's machine will expire within 21 days if used outside our software even though the same user has already paid once for the right to use these filters. Asking them to pay twice (i.e. purchase another Elecard product such as the AVC plugin) to view the video when they already have the means and the legal right to do so on their system is both unethical and unacceptable.

Elecard Codec SDK available in Evaluation and Full versions. Elecard Codec SDK Evaluation version contains Codecs for Evaluation,  binary (.exe) files of sample applications and brief documentation. Elecard Codec SDK Evaluation available for free download from site www.elecard.com.

Elecard Codec SDK Full version contains Codecs for Development; full documentation with codecs interface specification (API) and samples' source codes.

 
Codecs in Evaluation mode have 30 days Evaluation period, Elecard logo is overlaid. After evaluation period has finished "Evaluation expired ..." text is appears on video.

Codecs for Development use operates in Demo mode. In Demo mode Codecs have not any time limitation, but logo Elecard still overlaid.

Codecs included in Full SDK are for Development (Demo mode).

Licenses on Codecs for Distribution should be additionally purchased from sales department. In this case Elecard composes package especially for you and these codecs are without logo.
