I am trying out the AVC HD edition and am having a few quality problems.

I am trying to take a 1920 x 1080 clip, 25fps AVCHD clip and convert it to a simple uncompressed AVI with the same dimensions to use in a video editing package (PowerDirector).

I have tried using the MPEG2-HDV 2 1080p-25 setting, but the resultant video seems 'soft' and not as clear as the original.

Which profile would you suggest is the best please?

You can create your own profile. Please, try to disable deinterlace, framte rate conversion, resize and increase bitrate.

Use "AVI Custom\Uncompress" profile.
