hello there,
has anyone worked with H.264 files embedded with closed caption data? Have you got this to play in Elecard player with CC display? If so, can you shed some light,,,please? Ideally, I would like to have a sample file containing H.264 with CC data in it.
I am using CC data in SEI message construct.
Thanks in advance,
reg,

Hello VdoChida,
Our latest AVC Decoder supports CC in AVC (h.264) files. Therefore, we will use it in the next release version of AVC PlugIn for Elecard MPEG Player. Also Elecard AVC Encoder can encode CC from MPEG-2 (608 specification) to H.264 (708 specification).
Please contact us at tsup@elecard.ru and I will give you a sample AVC file with CC in it.

AVC CC decoding is implemented in Elecard AVC PlugIn v.2.3.80625 which is available on our
web-site.

Hi:

My company has licensed mpeg2 and avc filters from Elecard. we need to support a customer who requires closed caption.

1. Does elecard avc plugin support closed caption with ITU T.35 standard?

2. Both "Elecard MPEG-2 Video Decoder" and "Elecard AVC Video Decoder" have ~CC Out pin exposed even when there's no cc data in the video stream. Since I do not want to render the ~CC pin when it is not necessary, is there a way to detect if closed caption is present so that i can decide whether to include line21 filter in the graph?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, lotuslee

1. No, Elecard avc plugin support closed caption only with EIA-608 standard and EIA-708 in AVC video.

2. Elecard MPEG-2 Video Decoder and Elecard AVC Video Decoder have ~CC Out pin and it is not used when playback video without closed captions. In case you have rendering of you CC out for wideo without closed captions, please, send us a sample for investigation and contact Elecard technical support team  tsup@elecard.ru
