Hello, I'm using Elecard MPEG-2 Decoder&Streaming Plug-in for WMP v3.6.80523 with ProgDVB 5.14.8. Deinterlace mode is set to "auto" (by the way: I can only select "auto", "on" and "off" modes). No matter which option I choose, It seems that it does not work.
Video renderer - VMR9. Take a look:

Hi, xenixaz

As far as Hardware Acceleration options is "On" deinterlace is made by graphic cards.
Could you please try to switch off HA and set Deinterlace option to "On"?

I can't switch HA mode to "off", because when I do so, it reverts back to "on" setting. Is it possible to turn on hardware deinterlacing? Using Nvidia GF 8800gts.

Hi xenixaz,

The problems with deinterlace in hardware acceleration mode, can be caused by errors in drivers of video card, or wrong settings of videocard. We saw similar behaviour in some cases with Nvidia cards.

You can turn off/on hardware acceleration mode using this file:
http://ftp://ftp.elecard.net.ru/incoming/dxva.zip

Please download it, unzip and launch the files for turning DXVA on or off.

Please check whether you use the latest version of plugin. If not, you can download it from our website:
http://elecard.com/products/products-pc/consumer/mpeg2-decoder-plugin/

So, try to turn DXVA off and change deinterlace modes in properties of  MPEG2 decoder.

Thank you for your suggestion, turning HA off did help with deinterlace at some point, it works BUT I can't find suitable deinterlace method:

ON (I am guessing its vertical filter/blend): deinterlace works, but the frame rate is reduced to 25fps (normally it should be ~50fps), and is considerably a bad deinterlacing method, which gives ghosty unsharpness in movements.
DOUBLE RATE: deinterlace works fine, frame rate is ok, but it gives a "shaking effect" that is clearly noticable on some video elements.
DOUBLE WEAVE: does not perform any deinterlacing.

WHERE IS BOB METHOD???

Deinterlacing with other well known video decoders (I will not mention them for commercial reasons) works fine, even with DXVA turned on.

I am using latest NVidia drivers. Videocard settings are set by default, I have no idea what else to change or how to find those "errors" (contact NVidia if there are any, that's not my or my machine's fault). Tried different video renders - nothing changed.

Waiting for Your reply, thank you in advance.

Hello xenixaz,

We have BOB implemented only in DOUBLE RATE mode. The "shaking effect" will be resolved in the Decoder next release version.
The usual BOB (field interpolation) was removed from the Decoder deinterlace list, since it doesn't give the most efficient results.

Blend (On and Auto) should give the best results for most of the scenes.

DOUBLE WEAVE - is not a deinterlace mode, it gives interlaced frames on the output.

Please send us a short note to tsup@elecard.net.ru and we will give you or ftp details for uploading a sample stream for our investigation.

Thank you.
