Hi,

we're using hardware-video-server like Axis 243SA (http://www.axis.com/ --> http://www.axis.com/products/cam_243sa/index.htm) and other devices from impath (http://impathnetworks.com/) and visiowave (http://www.visiowave.com/) to show many videos parallel in our application.

Those devices stream the video over RTP/RTSP, but mostly with "own versions" of videoencoding (mpeg2/mpeg4/h.264/...). "Own version" mean: They "transport" additional information (some extra-bytes around the encoded data) which must be filtered out to use "normal" codecs (i.e. http://www.axis.com/files/tech_notes/MPEG4_userdata.pdf)

The vendor's of those devices deliver the appropriate direct-show filter codec for decoding and playing the video-stream (i.e. in WMP).

Is there a way to use those devices with elecard-software?

We can not guarantee the correct work of our filters with these devices.
We are using two source filters in our solutions:

NWSourcePlus filter - receves streaming from a network
RTSPNEtSource filter - connects to server via RTSP and after then receives broadcasting.

RTSPNEtSource now supports only broadcasting in MPEG2TS.
NWSourcePlus supports both Transport stream and Elementary Streams (MPEG4, AVC + AAC)

The best way to check the compatibility is to download our codec SDK or codec pack and try it.
http://www.elecard.com/products/products-pc/sdk/codec-sdk/

or codec pack and try it.
