Echo-ey sounds for all media files

Hi, I was trying to play a video file that kept making explorer.exe crash. I was sent to this webpage http://www.elecard.com/support/kb/answer.php?faq_id=75 . I installed the player but the sounds became less clear/garbled/echoey. I unistalled elecard and restarted but my files (.avi, .mp3) still have the sound issue. They were fine before I installed the elecard program. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Sorry for such a late reply but if the problem is still actual please follow these 3 simple steps:
1) click Start -> Run, type DxDiag in "Open" line, and click "OK";
2) you'll see the "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" window. Click "Save All Information" button.
3) send result file to tsup@eleard.net.ru.
