Hi folks, and a Happy New year for all!
My new problem: after I cut a movie with remux, the elecard player shows a wrong movie length, and so it plays the movie only until the shown length which is too short. Example: I recorded a total length of 93 minutes. With 'Remux' I cut away a few minutes at the beginning and at the end, so I come out with 82 minutes. But after remuxing the elecard player shows me a total length of only 54 minutes, and the worst: it stops playing after 54 real minutes, somewhere right in the movie!
In Power DVD7 it shows the correct length of 82 mins and plays all the 82 mins.
Any idea how to solve this problem?
Thanks Thomas

Hi TWKunze, please upload your file on ours ftp (ftp.elecard.com, user name: uploader, password: ybrjveybrf, tkmyjcnm) and describe in more details your actions. I will try to help you.
Best Regards Konstantin.

Hi, you don't want me to upload 11 Gig, do you??
I think I explained thoroughly what the problem is. Which part did you not understand?

Certainly 11 Gb it is not necessary upload to ftp. You told that "elecard player shows a total length of only 54 minutes" and what duration shows Elecard XMuxer application?
Best Regards Konstantin.

The XMuxer also shows the wrong duration. But I found out: it doesn't happen with all movies. And the Elecard player shows the wrong duration even at some movies that are not edited/remuxed. So it could be that timecodes are corrupt right from the start.
But if so, only mystery then: how does PowerDVD 7 recognize the correct duration, if the elecard products don't ?

Hi Thomas, There are different algorithms of stream duration definition, is possible file has incorrect time stamps. Please, upload one of problem files (no more than 25Mb) on our ftp.
Best Regards Konstantin.

Well, I can try to cut one minute out of a movie, if you really want 25MB, but I'm certainly not sure that this will explain the problem....
Especially the problem why a movie, right after recording, in Power DVD7 shows the correct duration, and in Elecard player it doesn't.

I tried twice now to cut a short clip out of a movie, but every time the result had the correct time code, so they don't work as examples.....
But still the quesiotn needs to be solved, why a movie that was just captured, doesn't show and play the correct duration in Elecard player, while in Power DVD7 it does !?!?

Hi TWKunze, Cut out file in Elecard XMuxer always will have correct times. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you without a file in what a problem and why our player does not playback file correctly.
Best Regsrds, Konstantin.
