Looking at getting a Freecom Mediaplayer and it says about the optical being DTS passthrough only.

Please advise what this means!

I'm trying to hook up an xbox360 to a Logitech Z-5400 Home cinema system and in turn to the Freecom Mediaplayer.

Hi Newboy,

DTS passthrough only means, that Freecom Mediaplayer through SPDIF is passthrough DTS and any transformation above a stream does not make.
Look in the Freecom Mediaplayer documentation, probably there it is described in more details.
